A Year's Temptation [May. 8th, 2007|11:43 pm]
Title: A Year's Temptation
Author: Lomonaaeren (I know she's on LJ, but dunno where exactly)
Archived: ff.net
Rating:  M (Definitely hard, not because of description but because of subject matter)
Summary: DMHP slash, post War, post Hogwarts. Draco isn't pleased to discover he's a Veela at twenty four, especially since both he and his mate, Harry, are married. Harry proposes a compromise that might work, or might make things monumentally worse.

A veela story! A veela story done right!

The Arrangement Series [Jan. 22nd, 2007|03:50 pm]
All of these are by RurouniHime, who's probably on LJ but I don't know where.

Title: The Arrangement
Rating: R
Archived: skyehawke
Summary: It's worked for years. Why change it now? H/D

Title: An Evening in August
Rating: R
Archived: skyehawke
Summary: In the midst of Harry and Draco's first week, dinner is required. SEQUEL to "The Arrangement." H/D slash.

Title: Perfect Potter
Rating: R
Archived: skyehawke
Summary: Andy likes his life, his job... and his coworker, Harry Potter. Part three of the Arrangement series. (H/D slash)

It's just a screwed up relationship... but perfect relationships aren't nearly so interesting to read about.

Hardly Working [Jan. 22nd, 2007|03:43 pm]
Title: Hardly Working
Author: 1ightning , [info]1ightning
Rating: R
Archived: skyehawke , LJ
Summary: Harry's desire to work with dragons is a liability, and unfortunately this seems to be Draco's problem.

After a point, there are some fic types that occur over and over again. This isn't one of them. It's lighthearted, funny, and unique. And it's done!

Life After [Jan. 22nd, 2007|03:34 pm]
Title:  Life After
Author: Ravengirl
Archived: skyehawke
Rating: R
Summary: Harry retreats to Grimmauld Place after the war's end. When a white ferret turns up in his garden, things start to get interesting.

Link: http://archive.skyehawke.com/story.php?no=14381

There's nothing like a good Ferret!Malfoy story. As yet, no slash, but it's wonderfully written and will indubitably turn into slash. I highly recommend it!

Sacrifices Arc [May. 14th, 2006|09:40 pm]
Hello. I'd like to share with everyone a set of fics that has completely ruined me for any other fanfiction for a couple of days. They're a series, and they're really long. I'm going to give the links, and then I'm going to go on for a couple of hours about how great they are.

These are all by Lightning on the Wave (ff.net) ([info]lightningwave)(skyehawke)

Saving Connor

AU, eventual HPDM slash, very Slytherin!Harry. Harry's twin Connor is the Boy Who Lived, and Harry is devoted to protecting him by making himself look ordinary. But certain people won't let Harry stay in the shadows... COMPLETE

No Mouth But Some Serpent's
AU of CoS, Slytherin!Harry. Harry goes back to Hogwarts, determined to protect his brother Connor, the BoyWhoLived, and stay in the shadows. But last year two people learned the truth about Harry... and this year, two more will. COMPLETE

Comes Out of Darkness Morn

AU of PoA, Slytherin!Harry. Harry struggles to rebuild himself after the shattering events of his second year. He will finally learn the truths he needs to know...but they're hardly going to be pleasant ones. COMPLETE

Freedom and Not Peace

AU of GoF, Slytherin!Harry. Training his brother, negotiating with former Death Eaters, juggling responsibility and duty...Harry's life is running away with him, as he struggles to balance. COMPLETE

Wind That Shakes the Seas and Stars
AU of OoTP, Slytherin!Harry, HPDM slash. Snape begins the year with a mistake that sets his ward against him. Now Harry is using all his own considerable cunning to ride out the multiple storms, even as the Second War goes into motion.

I know the premise-- that Harry has a sibling-- sound too much like the cliches that after some time reading fics we train ourselves to recognize immediately, and avoid. That's why I didn't discover these jewels until now, I imagine, because I've been reading fic for so long as to immediately spin away from stories that look as though they can't possibly be any good because of some bits of walking cliche. These aren't like that. These have taken over the Potter-verse accordin to Rowling in my mind. It's terrible. It's true. I think these are quite possibly the best fics I have EVER seen in the  history of Potter fanficcing, or at least in terms of Harry/Draco-ness. I read very, very quickly, and very, very broadly, and I think I'd be a good judge of that.

If that doesn't change your mind, consider this: most bad stories expend themselves quickly, and the authors eventually abandon their stories because of the thick, creeping awfulness. The first of this series has 79,220 words,  the second 165,229, the third 273,234, the fourth 491,138, the fifth
447,294 AND IT ISN'T EVEN FINISHED YET.

A word of warning before you start, though: these stories are infectious. Once you start reading them, you WON'T be able to stop. Make syre you have a lot of time before you start them, as opposed to MOI, who had exams last week and more this week and hasn't been able to study for any of them because of this story.

Bond [Jan. 9th, 2006|08:57 pm]
Title:  Bond
Author: Anna Fugazi
Archived: ff.net[info]
Rating: R (technically M)
Summary: This isn't the original summary, but it's the one she's got up now. He could almost hear Draco's sneering voice making remarks that involved the words 'pathetic' and 'unfathomable' and 'twit'. And he could hear himself agreeing wholeheartedly. Basically, it's the bond idea that started with Rhysenn, but with serious twists. One: the bond is a perfectly normal marriage bond forced upon Harry and Draco by a (presumably) malicious caster, and two: it's  actually not normal but fatally flawed. And, of course, neither reacts very well to be married in the eyes of wizarding society. Look: IT'S AN AWESOME FIC.

The Bet [Jan. 8th, 2006|08:27 pm]
If I could write like this, I'd be really happy. Very original and gripping.

Title: The Bet
Author: [info]aki_hoshi , Aki-Hoshi
Archived: ff.net, The Autumn Star
Rating: PG-13 (technically T)
Summary: AU. HDOC. Post-war. It all started with a little bet. Draco Malfoy’s never been one to back down from a perfectly do-able bet. But when that bet involves Harry Potter...? Draco’s realising that this bet isn’t as cut and dry as it seems, nor as easy…

The Horse [Dec. 22nd, 2005|09:17 pm]
This is not Harry/Draco. At the moment it's Harry/Luna, but it really has a more gen feel than anything else. It's a remarkably complex piece of work that is still going strong at 43 chapters as of right now and is probably a long way from the climax. Although the horse is an incredibly amusing thread wound through the story, Elsa2 shows her most masterful work in a (very long- several chapters) interlude on the Marauders, especially Severus. Not for James-lovers, but that part is a must for anyone who hungers to see a perfect Severus Snape. It is rather slow-moving, but even if you have to chop the read up into several days, you will have gotten the opportunity to read a marvelous story.

Title: The Horse
Author: Elsa2
Archived: ff.net
Rating: PG-13 (technically T)
Summary: Looking after a Muggle animal should be easy compared to saving Hogwarts from Voldemort. Harry and a blind Draco might disagree with that. Featuring Luna, Marauders, peppermints and, of course, a tall, black, badtempered horse named Simon.

Sundering Saga [Nov. 20th, 2005|10:18 pm]
[mood | awake]

These are not Harry/Draco in any form whatsoever. They're not Harry Potter fandom WHATSOEVER. They're not even fanfic. Original slash written by a very talented author.

Title: These Heavenly Signs
Author: </a></b></a>[info]coffee_muse
Archived: Schadenfreude
Rating: NC-17 FOR VIOLENCE
Summary: Schuldich has been running from his past for as long as he can remember. He's finally been forced to come to a stop in New York City. He's gained attachments, friends, and more enemies than he really needs. But the truth is still something that he hides from everyone around him with every shred of his being. It's still something that he has yet to fully face. The only sure thing that he knows is this: if the gods can't even stop what's starting to stir, how can he?
Link: Original,

Title: Schism in the Ranks
Note: Sequel to These Heavenly Signs
Info the same as for These Heavenly Signs
It is possible that neither of these are still available there- they're still being edited and whatnot. You'll probably need to read everything through coffee_muse's lj, which has friends filters, etc.

(no subject) [Nov. 4th, 2005|10:26 pm]
I hate the U of CA applucation process because it *won't let me enter any of my courses.* Grrrr. I'm sure that some computer will sync with it properly... right? right? *wibble* SAT tomorrow! How's this: I got a higher score on the Math 2 SATII than on the Math SATI. What's up with that?

(no subject) [Nov. 1st, 2005|09:58 pm]
[mood | frustrated]

I spent the entire month of July confused. August I understood what was going on. Septemeber I discovered that what I thought was going on really wasn't, and then figured out what was really going on. I labored under that misapprehension through October and incorporated it into my approach, and have now discovered I was wrong all along and everything is a bit different than I thought it was.

I wish to smash my head against a wall.

I'm talking about science here, by the way. What'd you *think* I was talking about?
